Islamic teachings lay out a way of life based on moral values and just relations among people in the family, community and the world. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was born on the Arabian Peninsula in about 570 CE and is the last of the Prophets.
Even before he became the Prophet, he was well known throughout Makkah for his high integrity, virtue and honesty, so they called him “The Honest One”. The Prophet was very modest, warm-hearted, helpful and merciful. He loved the low and the high alike, and was generous to everyone.
People of other faiths were protected from harm as much as the Muslims, as is stated in another article, “To the Jews who follow us belong help and equity. He shall not be harmed nor his enemies be aided.”
The lives of the practitioners of other religions in Muslim society was also given protective status. The Prophet said: “Whoever kills a person who has a truce with Muslims will never smell the fragrance of paradise.” (Saheeh Muslim)
