The Book of Job is the eighteenth book in the Bible and the first of the Poetic Books. It is thought to be the oldest book in the Bible as Job lived in the same period as Abraham, long before the time of Moses who wrote the first five of the Historical Books. The Book of Job tells us of his suffering; the loss of his family, his health and his money. This suffering takes away Job's pride and he acknowledges God's greatness and power.
Job 1:9-11
"Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought? Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face"
