The eleventh book of the Bible is the First Book of Kings. It tells the story of Israel from the latter days of King David's reign, through the splitting of the kingdoms and up to the reigns of Jehoram and Ahazia. It is a sad tale and shows how the people of Israel became rich and mighty when they obeyed God's commands, but were made poor and powerless because they turned their backs on God.
"And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart. For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the Lord his God, as was the heart of David his father."
God's punishment for Solomon was that the kingdom would be split in two during his son's reign
