Play the Name Game

This Spanish Medium Review picture quiz will challenge you in naming random things. It’s the play the name game! You will look at each of the quiz pictures to determine the names that need to go into the blank spaces found in each sentences. Some of the blanks can be a little tricky because you may have or may not have already had the word that is required. However, at least 3 of the given answers will be words that you know so you should be able to find the correct answer through the process of eliminating the words that you do know.

Because it can be fun to throw in a rough challenge every now and then, this quick quiz is a way of showing you how you can determine unfamiliar words in Spanish. It is a lot easier than you probably would think. Therefore, remember to pay close attention, not only to the pictures, but to each of the given answer to play this name game!

This is a picture of a beautiful parrot! The first answer means parsley. The third answer means ostrich. The last answer means otter. You know each of these words. You might not have had the word for parrot but, through eliminating the three you do know, you should have been able to determine the correct Spanish word for parrot, i.e., papagayo.

This is a picture of a gerbil. It is in the same family as a mouse but it is a little different. The first answer means gum. The second answer means gram. The last answer means hornet. You know each of these words. You might not have had the word for gerbil but, through eliminating the three you do know, you should have been able to determine the correct Spanish word for gerbil. That Spanish word is jerbo. Note that the J sounds like an H.

This should be a fairly easy one even if you might not have had the Spanish word for tarantula. They are spelled the same in English and in Spanish except that in Spanish there is an accent mark above the second 'a' in the word.

This is a mouse (similar to the gerbil in the second quiz sentence). The first answer means lizard. The second answer means leek. The third answer means monkey or ape. That leaves the last answer which means mouse.

The second answer means chicken. The third answer means rooster. The last answer means reindeer and the first answer means dog.
