The world is a big old place. Which means there’s a whole load of history to be studied by students in middle school.
That will be good news for the enthusiastic young archaeologists amongst you. For those of you who get bored in history classes and secretly have a little snooze underneath the desk or behind the textbooks, then have we got some good news for you!
Here at Education Quizzes we know that history is a fascinating subject (really!) and we wanted to bring historical facts to life. So we put our pith helmets on, gathered together all the evidence and left it to bake in the kiln for an hour. Out came multiple-choice quizzes – and what could be less like review and more like fun than playing quizzes?
The more you delve into history, the weirder it gets. And the further back you go, it become positively crazy. For instance, did you know that before the middle of the 19th century, dentures were made from teeth pulled out of the mouths of dead soldiers? What about in ancient Egypt where if you were unlucky enough to be a servant, you were smeared with honey in order to keep any flies away from the pharaohs. In early Rome, it was entirely legal for a father to kill anyone in his family. How about in the 1500s, wealthy Europeans actually ate corpses believing that they would cure any ailments.
Quite a lot of history (at least that which has been recorded) involves violence, war and death. But you’ll also make discoveries about politics, royal families, dynasties, artifacts, inventions, buildings and even villains. It’s like one giant soap opera.
Are you ready to step back in time and explore? Let’s do it!
