Commas are introduced to first graders with dates and a series of items. Students will learn that a comma needs to be placed before the year in a date. Also, the students learn that a comma is needed in a series of things. There are two ways to include commas in a series. They can place the comma before the word "and" or not. In the quiz, the students will determine which date and phrase is written correctly.
