Year 2 Time - Number of Minutes in an Hour

This quiz addresses the requirements of the National Curriculum KS1 Maths and Numeracy for children aged 6 and 7 in year 2. Specifically this quiz is aimed at the section dealing with telling the time and being able to write the time to the hour, half past the hour and quarter past/to the hour and also knowing the number of minutes in an hour.

Once children know the number of minutes there are in an hour, and can tell the time accurately to at least quarter past/to, they should be able to predict what time it will be in half an hour or quarter of an hour. For example, if they are shown a clock showing 4 o'clock and asked what time it will be in, for example, 30 minutes they should be able to imagine where the minute hand will be and know what the new time will be when that number of minutes has passed.
