Writing - Guess the Missing Sounds
This Key Stage 1 Writing quiz focusses on guess the missing sound. This quiz asks KS1 children to read a word carefully and figure out which sound is missing. This will hopefully encourage them to edit their work and help them remember sound patterns. Self-editing is mentioned in the National Curriculum for Year 2 pupils, and will improve their all-round knowledge of English and literacy.
When we write, we break words up into sounds. Unfortunately, some of the sounds have run away. Have a look at the words and see if you can find the missing sounds.
