This quiz deals with capital letters for book titles and follows on from the National Curriculum's suggested awareness of when capital letters are used. It extends the suggestion that capital letters should be used for proper nouns and is targeted for KS1 Year 2 children. Knowing that book titles should begin with a capital letter will expand children’s English and literacy knowledge.
When you read your favourite book, you will notice that the first letter of each word in the title begins with a capital letter. However, some of the smaller words won’t be capitalized, like ‘to’ or ‘in’. You need a capital letter for all of the main words but not the connecting ones like ‘and’. But no matter what size the first word is, it will always be a capital.
