This quiz addresses part of the requirements of the National Curriculum KS1 for children aged 5 and 6 in years 1 and 2 in Computing. Specifically it looks at the wide range of digital devices, apps (or applications) and the rate of change. It is one of 20 quizzes to help you find out about how computers work, and how they affect all our lives.

There are lots of computers and tiny electronic machines. They store information in bits. They are digital machines or devices. When your parents were born there were very few computers. Now there are lots of computers, mobile phones, digital recorders, smart machines and other devices. There are apps available to download. Apps, or applications, are programs for computers. The rate of change is very fast. This year’s new technology is soon out of date. This quiz dips into the digital world.
