Grade 2 - Ledger Lines (Part 1)

Ledger lines are those found above or below the main musical stave.

In Grade One you learned the different notes in the treble and bass clefs. In Grade Two you will start to use ledger lines which are the small lines above or below the main five lines and spaces. You will see up to two ledger lines in this grade. The sequence of letter names stays the same A, B, C, D, E, F, G so follow the same sequence up and down.
