The 19th Century saw a blossoming of children’s literature. The brothers Grimm’s collection Children's and Household Tales was published in 1823 and Hans Christian Andersen’s Fairy Stories followed 20 years later. Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass were published in the latter half of the century and other classics such as Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island and Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book rounded off this golden age of children’s literature.

We have yet more questions on children's literature for you to answer. How good is your memory?
