This is the third quiz in our series all about finding words which cannot be made from longer words. That is a type of question sometimes included in the 11+ Verbal Reasoning exam. Not often, to be sure, but occasionally.
So why bother with these quizzes then, if they are seldom included in the test? Well, two reasons: they are a good way to practise concentration, which is always a good habit to get into. They also improve your powers of observation, trying to spot certain letters in words makes you more watchful and alert.
So, on with the quiz. Take your time and please do not rush. Being fast is good, but being accurate is much more important. Good luck!
To ‘constrain’ is to force someone to do something, and to ‘sanction’ is to allow or give approval
