Welcome to this, the second of our Easy Eleven Plus maths quizzes on Solving Problems. Like the previous quizzes, this one will ask you to find the answers to questions involving weights and measures. They are not too hard – just apply a little logic and you will be fine.
Let’s say that you want to know how much paint you will need to cover a wall measuring 5 metres by 2 metres. The total area of the wall is 10 m2 (5 x 2 = 10). Now, if a tin of paint covers 2 square metres, then you will need 5 tins of paint (10 ÷ 2 = 5).
See how easy it is if you apply a little thought? The questions we will pose you are of a similar vein. Just read them thoroughly, think hard, and then choose your answers. The more you practice, the better you will be - as if a weight had been removed from your shoulders!
